Floyd

Floyd was found in Watts by his rescue angel and foster, Stacy, wandering around aimlessly. So Stacy took him in and did due diligence to find his owners but came up empty. Apparently his owner left the state and left Floyd with a friend, who decided he didn’t want a dog. This little man is as sweet as he can be and loved by all! He was playing with his foster mom’s dog and somehow exacerbated an old injury and came up lame. We put him into the hospital on a protocol of Cortizone but Floyd was still unable to walk. So he is scheduled for an MRI and likely will need back surgery to the tune of $8,000+. Floyd is healthy otherwise and if we can save/restore his ability to walk, we will do what must be done.

Quizno

You won’t find our Quizno at Quiznos, but you will find him at your feet, looking up at you lovingly!  He came out of the shelter with bladder stones, and will need to be on special food for the rest of his life…but hey, a dog’s gotta eat, right?  He will need his urine checked periodically, but other than the stones, this is one fantastic dog!  He would be wonderful in almost any home other than one where he is left alone — he is very human oriented.  He’s available now!

Walter

THIS IS WALTER….a Lhasa Apso who is lucky to be alive.  He was found by a good Samaritan on the side of the road, after being hit by a car.  She took him to the shelter, but they wouldn’t take him in.  They told her to take him to SPCA Hawthorne, who took him in and called us.  Long story short, Walter has a horribly shattered pelvis (fractured in three places) and femur.  Dr. Olds pinned him back together and he is now healing.  He is a good boy….so sweet and gentle.  Only 2 yrs old and so far, his life has been tragic….but it’s looking up because he is in good, loving hands with LHH.

Jaxx

MEET JAXX…..a gorgeous, adoring, sweetheart of a Liver colored, 3 yr old, 13 lb Lhasa Apso.  Jaxx is one of the most attentive dogs I have ever experienced.  When I was coughing, he starred at me with such a concerned look!!  He couldn’t be more affectionate if he tried.  Sadly, he was another fluff muffin matted to the bone who was hit by a car and left.  He had a transverse fracture and was very lucky to get away with his life.  He will be officially available for adoption beginning of May.  He is a pearl of a dog and any family (kids over 5 yrs old OK) would be lucky to call him theirs!  His ideal home will be active, have kids and another canine….he’d be very content…but he really wants to make sure he has you!

Zachary

ZACHARY was in the Lancaster Shelter waiting for a transport, which wasn’t leaving for several days.  I asked to pull him and they said great.  I had to come back for him, but before I did I got a call “he has parvo, do you still want him.”  I said “Yes, now even more than before.”  He got over Parvo and ended up with pneumonia….he has had a very rough time of it for a young dog.  Shelter thought he was 10 months old….he’s about 2 yrs.
