Gumby & Choo Choo

We adopted Choo Choo and Gumby in March 2012. Originally I went to go see Gumby, but he was not at the adoption event that day. I met Choo Choo and fell in love with him. Look at that face – how could anyone resist this guy?! I went back three times to convince Randee to let me have Choo Choo, but based on his personality, he needed to be with another dog. The third time we went back to the adoption event, Gumby was there all alone in the corner, with so much hair I could barely see his face. But I fell in love with him, too! I am a sucker for the underdog. Finally, I was able to adopt Choo Choo and Gumby, and it was a pack made in heaven.

Choo Choo is the life of the party and always Mr. Personality. Gumby, on the other hand, had so much anxiety in the beginning, and it was evident he had not had very positive past experiences. He was so meek and tiny. Gumby’s common language was to growl, but when he does it now, he licks my face and wags his tail. He is so sweet and gentle; a great cuddler. Choo Choo is my sidekick and never leaves my side, and I love it. The boys are yin and yang, with completely opposite personalities. I remember when I gave them their first toys, spa treatment, dog bed, blankets, and dog treats. They didn’t know what to do. They just looked at me with those loving eyes. I reassured them that yes #thisjusthappened, and you will be #lovedforever. Gumby still protects the first toy he ever received. Choo Choo just takes whatever Gumby doesn’t want; he loves his brother so much. They have three very comfy dog beds made by Duroque Interior Design in West Hollywood and are so spoiled, yet so incredibly grateful. They actually inspired Olga, the designer and owner of Duroque, to design and produce luxury dog beds, which have become very well known in West Hollywood. Choo Choo and Gumby do a lot of doggie charity events with Duroque, so you may see them in your local media. They are the best companions anyone could ever ask for and their capacity to love and be loved is truly inspirational.
