NEEDS A HOME WITH ANOTHER SMALL, PLAYFUL DOG

THIS IS ZOEY…and this precious, black/white, 4-5 yr old, 13 lb Shih Tzu, came to us from the West LA Shelter with a broken leg.  Even in pain, Zoey was a sweetheart!  She had surgery right after we rescued her…her tibia and femur were broken, she needed pins to hold her leg together, and she should have healed in 8 weeks.  She would have, except her foster did not restrict Zoey to not “run out to the bathroom” and allowed her to be far too active for a dog with a broken leg 🙁   When her leg did not heal, a second surgery was performed to move the pins, and she was restricted to cage rest.   The foster claimed she was on bed rest, but two months later, it was obvious that Zoey’s leg was not healing and ultimately, even with a plate and further surgery, there was no guarantee she would heal properly.  Reluctantly, the decision was made to amputate her leg.  Cut to the present time… Zoey is doing FANTASTICALLY as a tripod!  She is very active, loves to play, gives lots of kisses, loves belly rubs, is very happy and loves everyone!  She seems to be potty trained, but we never guarantee.  She will use pp pads if she has to go out.  She has a little ball that she loves to play with (pictured) and Zoey is a dog who loves life…no lemons for her!  She is available now!  Come and get her if you want to adopt a very special girl with a big heart.  Kids over 8 yrs old please and a playful canine companion for Zoey is a must!  **As a tripod, we would like her new family to commit to getting her acupuncture or chiropractic to ensure she will be pain free for the rest of her life!
