MEET VANDI — a red-headed, 9-10 yr old, 20-lb Lhasa Apso.  Vandi came to us from the Carson shelter with several growths in her mouth and on her side, which we had removed and were found to be benign.  We placed her in a home a year ago, and we hoped it would be her forever home. Unfortunately, they did not care for her properly and in their care, she lost her eyesight.  She also doubled her weight in their poor care 🙁  They fed her a sub par food and didn’t realize how much weight she had gained…but a simple test revealed she had a slow thyroid and she has lost most of the unwanted weight!  We think she is deaf, but she does respond to very loud stimuli. Her foster moms report that she likes to curl up in their lower cupboards!  She also likes hanging out in a crate — even when it’s not bedtime.  But she doesn’t like the door closed!  Vandi loves to walk and is good on a leash.  She does well in the car too.  She’s not very interested in other dogs, so she would do great as the only pup in a senior home. Vandi knows how to use a doggy door, and does know when to get out.  Vandi needs a forever home where she can soak up the sun and rest and just be a lazy dog.  Do you have room in your home for this mellow girl who needs a loving home to live out her golden years?
