***ADOPTION PENDING***

MEET TONY….who looked scruffy when he arrived, but he has since been groomed.    This little 12 lb, gray/tan, 1-2 yr old youngster was dumped in the East Valley Shelter with a deformed, broken leg that needed immediate surgery.  He was in pain and at such a young age, didn’t really know what was happening to him.  He unfortunately had to have his front right leg amputated, but he has been a champ thru it all.   Still quite fearful…but beginning to blossom.

It’s obvious this youngster has not had a happy life.  To say he is terrified is an understatement.  His family saw that he wasn’t perfect and so they dumped him once he needed medical.  If you are looking to really help a rescue dog, Tony would be your guy.  He is beginning to calm down, but it’s going to take an abundance of patience, time, affection and love.  People always tell me they are looking to rescue a dog…we have rescued him but you could play an important role in his life if you have the love and attention to get this very worthy boy.

Tony is still shell shocked from what he has gone through, but he is already running around with the pack.  In fact, we think he would be happiest with another small dog (or two).  He seems to be more comfortable with other dogs than people, but that is slowly improving.  Who can resist a puppy who just wants to be safe and loved…and to trust!?  He was initially a bit snappy, because we’re sure he was in pain, but that has resolved itself.  Still, because of his fear we don’t recommend him for children.  We brought him to adoptions to socialize him and he loved sitting on different volunteer’s laps.  Daily, this little tripod gets better and better.  He goes outside and is walking, squats to pee, then poops and he’s ready to go back inside!  Great little eater.  Still working on leash, but he is doing terrific.  Very special boy looking for a very special home.

Tony’s real personality is revealing itself as each day progresses.  Adopting Tony will be giving this little man a new lease on life…starting over.  Could you be the one to change his world?  He is now available and will be at adoptions.

Hooray! This dog has been adopted!
