MEET SHANTI….which means, “peace, health, wellness.”  That describes Shanti perfectly.  This petite little 8-10 lb, white/gray, 4-5 yr old Shih Tzu /Maltese mix sat at the Hesperia Shelter continuously overlooked.  Why, we have no idea.  She is an angel.  She loves to cuddle and kiss, probably good with cats but no guarantee….and she is a character if we ever met one!  Shanti loves to play with her human — and even by herself!  She will wiggle her little butt and let you know how much fun she is to be with!!  The only time we have heard her bark is when you first leave (she’d rather go with you) but she settles down quickly. She can be an only dog if she is not left alone all day (more than 3 hrs).  She has demonstrated some food aggression — which she can be trained out of — but for that reason, we don’t think she should go to a home with kids.  Shanti will give you gentle little kisses when she knows you and let you know how much she appreciates having a warm bed, good food and a happy life.  Can you give her one?  She would not be good in a senior home as she is continually under foot. 🙁
