MEET SAWYER…..who was rolling down the lazy river until we found him!!  Well, not exactly but he did come to us from the Lancaster Shelter!  This gorgeous, tri colored, long eyelashed, 17 lb, 2-3 yr old Lhasa X (mostly Lhasa) could not be sweeter if he tried.  He is laid back, easy going and a lover boy.  He strolls on a leash and does his business outside (no promises though), he will bark at strangers on leash — after all that’s his job!  He barked at himself looking in the mirror and was just amazed by his reflection.  He is good with all the dogs but while curious, is more human oriented than anything else.  He will bark when you leave for just a minute, letting you know “he’s on the watch!”  Wouldn’t be a good apartment dog, but he is not a yapper.  We have recently learned that Sawyer is VERY protective of his person.  While he has a great temperament, he did snip at someone when they went to pull something that was near him, and near me (he was protecting me) but he is not aggressive. That being said, no kids for this hunk!  He will sit on your feet, by your side, by your bed. Those are his favorite places.  We have recently learned from his foster mom that he would love to have a buddy, so another dog in the home around his age would be ideal.  Sawyer is a keeper and the home that adopts him will be a fortunate one.  A family of one person or a couple, who will work with him on this behavior (if they ever see it) would be what the doctor ordered!  He will give back lover 10x over.
