***ADOPTION PENDING***

MEET SANTIAGO (Sante for short!)…a luscious, tan/white, 16 lb, 3.5 yr old Shih Tzu (DOB 2/27/2019), who was surrendered to LHH because his human granddaughter hated that he was kept outside.  When he first arrived, he was shaking like a leaf, so we let him decompress for a day or two.  He didn’t understand living inside but now?  He sleeps in my arms, in my bed or his.  He loves cleaning the eyes/ears of the other dogs with gentle kisses.  He has really blossomed and will follow you all over the house (when he is not getting into mischief)!  When taken out, he does his business and is settling in very nicely.  No guarantees on his potty training but he also uses pads.

Family says great with kids and likes toys!  Likes toys?  More like LOVES toys and will find them even if you can’t!  And, hide your shoes…those are his favorites!  We wouldn’t recommend him for a senior/mature home, as he absolutely gets under foot and has almost caused me to crash down the stairs multiple times!

Sante was the pickiest eater!  He would barely eat rotisserie chicken!  Now he has gotten with the program and is eating what the others do (homemade of course)!

Without question, Sante needs another dog or two in the home to show him the ropes and play with him.  He loves to give kisses to his companion, sometimes too much!!  He is very smart and watches everyone and while still a little picky, will eat like the others.  He loves to zoom around the house with the pack!  He did have a bladder infection which is why he wasn’t himself when he arrived.  Now all better, he’s just the sweetest!  Sante definitely needs a home where he gets an abundance of attention and you don’t leave him for hours at a time.  He can be an escape artist (watch the door), but he is learning “stay/back up” at the door and is very smart!!  Santiago is a keeper… is he a dog you’d be interested in keeping?  FOREVER??

Hooray! This dog has been adopted!
