MEET PUNKY….and what a special boy he is.  This little 10 lb, tan/white, 3-4 yr old Shih Tzu came to us from San Bernardino absolutely, positively, shut down.  Cut to:  a month later and he is a different dog! Still a little fearful of the elements, he is coming out of his shell little by little. There is no question to  that he was neglected and ignored; worse yet, abused.  It’s apparent that a kind human hand he had never felt 🙁  He loves other dogs and cuddling up with his foster buddies.  He used to hide — now he shows glee in greeting you!  We’ve taught him to walk on a leash, go up and down stairs and venture out into the scary world, and he is getting the message that all humans are not bad.  You can catch him smiling and now, even playing with a toy == where before the squeaker scared him; now they are his favorites!  He really likes his belly rubs and petting time, and his special place on your bed!!   Punky needs a home that will continue to make him feel safe and loved.  No chaos, but quiet and continuous love.  He needs to be spoiled to  life!!  Another small to medium dog in the home is a must, to help make him feel secure.  We love dogs like Punky because we know that we will bring him back to life…and we love doing it.  Do you want to continue our work?  Nothing is more rewarding 🙂
