UPDATE:  POOH BEAR HAS LOST 8 LBS!!  HE IS NOW 16 LBS!!!  New Pictures !!

THIS IS POOH BEAR….we have dropped the Pooh because he’s just a “Bear” to us!  OK…there are no typos here.  Bear is a male, Maltese mix, who is 9 yrs young (with a lot of pep to his step) and a hefty 24 lbs !!!!  He’s actually recently lost 8 lbs so he’s on his way to being svelte!    We know, we all think of Maltese as toy dogs, but this boy kind of looks like he is carrying saddlebags on his back!!!  He is a jolly boy, except when he isn’t familiar with his surroundings and is a bit fearful sometimes nips — HE DOES NOT BITE.    This goes away pretty quickly but for this reason, we don’t want him to go to a home with young kids.  Teenagers are fine.  Bear’s foster says he is very smart and has already learned to sit, shake and lay down!  He has even learned how to ring a bell when he has to go out!!  He has also become relaxed and barks at foreign noises (good watch dog) so he should be in a house and not an apartment.  He greets you with love and kisses when you return!  Since he was used to being with his sister, Taffy, he would love to have a companion (human and/or canine) in the home with him most of the time.  He loves to play with his foster’s pup.  He likes to go for walks and does go at a quick pace, which is helpful in losing weight.   Pooh Bear will be a great companion dog…and he will give you a lot of love and affection back!
