THIS IS NORBERT….a 5 yr old, tan/gold, 14 lb Lhasa Tzu, who came to us from Riverside Shelter a total mess.  They warned me that I would not be able to “walk him out of the shelter on a leash” and they were right at that moment…but three weeks later, he is walking on a leash and even looks forward to going out!  We don’t know what his life was before we took him, but we know it wasn’t good.  He is now asking for love and attention.  When he came to us, his eye had been removed, but poorly, so he had to have surgery to have it totally removed.  One thing we can tell you about Norbert is when you tell him he’s a good boy now (like doing his business outside) he rolls over on his back for a belly rub!!  Aside from leashing him in the beginning (which was the problem), he is a wonderful, but still scared, pup.  He is NOT aggressive in any way once he knows you, and his only issue was really pulling on his collar to leash him.  However, we would not put him with kids for this reason.  They like to grab the collars and then…..oooops 🙁  Norbert is a daycare and LHH favorite and his favorite place is being “coo’d” on your lap!  He is one of those dogs who is totally rewarding, but he needs patience.  He is smart and coming out of his shell like a champ.  He gives LOTS of kisses and just wants to be loved.  He has no trouble seeing whatsoever.  Could you love a dog with one eye and a huge heart?
