THIS IS NOAH…a very sweet, curious, playful 3-4 yr old, 11 lb, creamy white/tan, ShihTzu/Maltese who came from the Downey Shelter.  He was terrified at the shelter and was not easy to handle, so they made him “rescue only.”   When he went to our foster home, he was also scared to death!  When I went to see him at the shelter, it was clear he was fearful but shortly after we came home, and he had time to decompress, he was full of love and kisses!  This is a cuddlebug!  But very often with small, shelter dogs, they are fearful and all they need is a bit of time to settle in and know they are safe.

Unfortunately, we rarely get background information about the dogs, but Noah probably had a decent home because he is probably potty trained (no guarantees at your house) and once he gets over his trauma of being scared (probably wasn’t exposed to a lot of social activities or people), he is a spectacular, loving boy.  He loves to go on walks, play with you, and get on high places!  He loves going on top of our refrigerator in our dog room!  As he’s been with his new foster, Noah has come out of his shell and is his cuddly, loving self!  He will love sleeping in bed with you…and he’s even started playing with his foster buddies.  Noah is a special boy.  We think he needs a home with another dog to help him gain confidence.  He definitely needs a patient home that will let him settle down and feel safe.  Older kids (over 12 yrs) would be okay, with the understanding he will be shy at first.  A SPECTACULAR BOY!!
