THIS IS MIA…and her story is tragic, so we want to help find her a home.

Mia is a 10 year old, AKC registered Lhasa Apso.  We received a call from People for Pets Rescue in Tracy, CA, asking if we could take her.  Unfortunately, since I was bitten, I am unable to take on any seniors at this time, but we really want to help Mia find her forever home.

Sadly, Mia came to People for Pets after her owners passed away. Their son took her on, but he lost his home in a fire, at which time she was got out and lost and not found for several months.  Just imagine her confusion and fear!!  Mia is a special, “special needs” pup.  Unfortunately, her care had been neglected with the passing of her previous owners and she was suffering from dry eye (without medication) and her coat was heavily matted.  Thankfully, People for Pets stepped up and she has been completely vetted.  Mia is doing so much better now, is current on all vaccines, microchipped and she is being given daily eye medication to soothe her dry eye.  She will need eye meds for the rest of her life.  Mia can be selective and can get nippy if fearful. She is looking for a quiet household to live out her golden years.  She has the energy and alertness of a 5 or 6 yr old dog.  She thoroughly enjoys car rides and loves going on walks.  She is crate and house trained, gets along with other dogs and anyone who knows the breed knows that she can live until late in her teens.
