THIS IS MERINGUE…one of the sweetest seniors you will ever meet, and her story is so unfortunate.  She came to LHH from a hoarding situation.  We don’t know how many dogs there were in total, but 6 were brought to us.  The dogs were no doubt loved, but just found themselves in a bad situation.  We gave them all confectionary names to add a little sweetness to their lives. 

Meringue is about 10-11 yrs old, 15 lbs and reddish-tan & white.  We think she is a Lhasa Apso mix.  She is blind from cataracts and partially deaf.  When she arrived to us, we were afraid to take her out of the truck because she was so frail.  Flea-infested, eye/ear infections, and so weak she could barely walk.  Even as we write this, tears are in our eyes.  But she couldn’t be a nicer pup, despite the deplorable condition she arrived in.   

Once we’d tended to Meringue’s immediate medical needs, we plumped her up to her ideal weight.  This girl loves her food — she howls when she knows you are preparing a meal for her!  Otherwise, she is very quiet.  And despite her original condition, her bloodwork looked good for a mature lady!  Give her love (chin scratches are her favorite!), and she may even bestow you with a few kisses, letting you know she appreciates your love and attention.  All in all, what she really needs is love.  Do you have enough love in your heart for this precious girl?
