Mars
INTRODUCING MARS….and he is out of this world adorable! Hailing from the Palmdale Shelter, this 21 lb, 1.5 yr old, tri color (when his hair grows out) LhasaPoo (see before pic below) boy’s story is a sad one. He was adopted from the shelter with a buddy and first day at home, they got out. His buddy was hit by a car and brought to a vet office — Mars was brought back to the shelter. When the vet office called the owner, he hung up on them, and nobody came to pick him up. So, the shelter picked him up π Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries π The shelter called the owners about Mars and they hung up on them!! Sadly, the law says if there is an owner, and there was, Mars had to stay for 10 days — so there he sat, waiting for someone (US!!) to come and get him. NOW is the beginning of his happy story! We pulled him out of the shelter and he was one happy puppy!!
One can only imagine what kind of life Mars had before now, looking at the condition he was in before going to the shelter. Suffice to say, he doesn’t love being alone, but he will settle down in minimal time. He will probably need some work on his potty training, but he does his business mostly outside and on PP pads. He is very kissy and cuddly and of course a lover of belly rubs! He needs a little practice on his leash walking so he doesn’t walk in front and trip you! But he is smart and training is going well. He seems to like toys, but isn’t really sure what to do with them…YET! We’ve only had him a short time, but he seems to love other dogs and wants to meet all of them on our walks. He can be a little baby, whimpering to get to someone and sometimes when he first gets in the car, but it only enhances his sweet puppy nature.
Mars needs and active home with a yard, with or without kids over 8 yrs old, parents who will spend a lot of time with him and take him to training to be the best boy he can be. He is the kind of dog that kids grow up with and love all their lives! He is special and deserves that special family. Could that be you?
