MEET LUCY… a gorgeous, 13 lb, 2 year old white/gray beard, Lhasa Apso, with a spectacular, long curly Lhasa tail. Her human mom brought her to us all the way from Florida as she realized she was not the right home for her needs. They absolutely want the best for their little girl, and they felt Lhasa Happy Homes was the organization to find that perfect match.
Lucy is sweet, yet independent. While she has a regal look to her, she also has a very goofy side. Lucy loves her toys and is known for entertaining herself! She needs to know you are the boss of her and not the other way around! Typical Lhasa!! While she can be affectionate and cuddly, she also can exhibit resource guarding behavior and has nipped out of fear. For this reason, we would say no kids and no first time dog parents. Lucy thrives in a a structured environment that is calm, has a routine and a family that understands the breed and will love her through her imperfections.
A home with a single person or a couple would be ideal, maybe no other dogs (even though she gets along with them fine, she has never lived with one). Experience with the Lhasa breed is a MUST!!! A secure backyard vs. an apartment is what would be best for this little lady. She is known to become a little cranky after 8pm, so this would not the time to mess with her collar or have her do something she may not want to do.
Lucy absolutely loves to go in the car. She is trained to be in her crate and if she isn’t she will bark at others from the window. She needs a home that will dote on her and give her all the attention and affection that she deserves….love her to life, don’t spoil her to death! She would make a wonderful addition to a home that is ready to embrace a young dog who wants to be loved forever!!
