8/1/2022 Livvy was walking abnormally, so we took her to the vet and she indeed had hip dysplasia, requiring surgery (otherwise a healthy puppy). She could benefit from PT, but her back legs are definitely gaining strength. She has had surgery on both hips and she is now available!!
MEET MISS LIVVY….a lucky “whatever she is” 1 yr old, 12.2 lb, white and brown liver colored terrier, with a head that looks like a mini Aussie! She does shed, so she is not hypoallergenic. Livvy escaped being bred by landing intact in the shelter. Now, we know why a puppy was dumped in the shelter — hip dysplasia saved her life! She was so frightened, Shelter gave her to us! Poor thing, never had a haircut or handling or love :(. Not the typical dog LHH takes, but she wasn’t getting out without help. With us, she has been absolutely wonderful and sweet! With a potential adopter at the shelter, she was not having it. She is wary of new people and things, so she needs patience and love and then….SWEETNESS OVERLOAD! All they needed was patience because she is a very sweet puppy. We are socializing her and she is joyful! We have her walking on a leash and wanting to meet and greet the neighbors and especially their dogs. She can be fearful of new environments but she settles quickly. However, in the home she is very jealous of other dogs, so she should be your one and only! She is skittish at first but with patience, she is a doll. However, she doesn’t like the vet…can you blame her? We think she would be better in an adult only home.
If you are looking for a playful, sweet, loving pup, Livvy is your girl. She wants to go to a home where there her family who will dote on her. Livvy will emit a soft, adorable howl if she is left alone, now that she has experienced love and company. She seems to be pp pad trained but she loves her walks and likes to go out about 3-4 times a day. She is very smart and we love her! So will you!
