MEET KRICKET! This little miss is a cream/gold, 17 lb, 3 yr old, female Lhasa Apso who definitely has a story to tell. In her original home, we believe she was used as a breeder 🙁 She somehow escaped and was being chased down by some people in Long Beach when she ran directly into the ocean!! Everyone thought she was a goner…but she swam out 50 yards in 60 degree water and fortunately, the lifeguard was called and they went out to find Kricket clinging to a buoy!! So we know she can swim!
Kricket was taken to the Long Beach Shelter and adopted…but she didn’t get along with the Maltese in the home, so we were called and immediately took her! What an angel! She is intimidated by people at first, but she settles down pretty quickly. She loves to play with other dogs but we were not sure if she wants to share her home. We’ve gone back and forth on this, but we believe she’d do well with a submissive pup who will let her be the boss — but stand up to her and be her best friend! She is pretty quiet until she feels the need to “join in the choir.” When she is on a walk, she is a bit reactive, but calms down most of the time. She is better with small dogs than large ones and she really only wants to say hello to everyone. She is not trusting on the street (can you blame her?) and is protective, but her teeth never come into the picture!! She is not aggressive at all, just a little scared. It comes and goes as fast! She loves her walks and is pretty good…but not 100% trained. Kricket would do best in a home with a yard, but she is also good on walks and does her business quickly. Kids over 10 yrs old would be great. After she knows you, she loves to shower you with kisses and let you know she is your person! This one is going to be hard to let go of! We really won’t know the perfect home until we meet it so please be patient! We love her!!!
