MEET IVY….a diminutive, 7 lb, 6 yr old, “YorkieDoodle” or as we see her, a Yorkie Poo.  Our groomer cut off all her curls, but she is adorable either way.  And those EARS!!!

This little girl was at the Downey Shelter in the rescue only kennels.  She was in with Noah, and we can’t figure out why.  Well, they are both very fearful initially.  Ivy nipped at the shelter staff when she first arrived, because she was terrified. I would be scared of them too!!  She is only 7 lbs, and she doesn’t like big dogs…it is hilarious to see her challenge a German Shepherd or even a Pit Bull!!  She is a happy, kissy, silly and she had horrible teeth like so many Yorkies do, but a dental fixed all that!  She is very healthy otherwise!  It takes her a little while to warm up to a new home environment and she can be a little nippy if she is scared but she does not bite.  Once she warms up, she is the greatest!!  Ivy will bark when strangers come to the house, or when she is getting ready to go for a walk or be fed….but in general she is not a yippie dog.  She started playing with toys but she would rather play with you.  Loves to be held, but she also loves to run around the house!  We haven’t seen any aggression, just a little insecurity. We have seen her fearful without acting out.  She’s a sweetheart!  Does she sound like she might fit in your home?  We don’t recommend her for a senior home or a home with children under 12 yrs.
