MEET HATTIE…and if YOU have any idea what breeds she is, please chime in!  She is 3-4 yrs old, long bodied, 12 lbs, sable colored and we are guessing Yorkie Dachshund.  The shelter thought she was only 1.5 yrs old…but we know better.   When she arrived and when she left for her foster home, she was shaking –but it only took a day for that to resolve itself.  She definitely has had a litter and she is a bit on the precocious side…but we don’t think her people were very kind or let her do much. Patience is one of the most important elements you must have when adopting and Hattie is no exception (but she is exceptional!).  Once she felt comfortable, she showed her confident personality, which she loves to show off!  She LOVES attention and it’s easy to love her.  If you ignore her (who could?) she will give a little whimper.  As soon as you look at her, she wags her tail and says, “well, that’s more like it!”

We are still learning about Hattie…but we can tell you right off the bat she does not like being left alone.  So, please either work from home or take her with you most everywhere, and have another little dog!  She is not a big barker, but she can be vocal when she wants you.  She can be bossy, but she really likes to play.  She is a comedian… she wants to play with her foster roommate, but sometimes she climbs up on him or rams into him and he just says, “well, alrighty then!”  Hattie would be best with a submissive dog who wants a playful sister…and kids over 8 yrs old would love her!  And don’t be surprised if this cute little warm body chooses to locate herself on your chest, shower you (and we mean flood!) with kisses.  She is a big cuddlebug and just wants your love.

At the end of the day, Hattie is part super shy puppy, part Hollywood star and 100% lovebug!  Does she sound like a pup you could love?
