MEET GULLIVER….a handsome, tan/white, 18 lbs, 2 yr old Lhasa Apso, with a heart of gold. However he lost his home, on his travels, he landed in the Riverside Shelter and eventually to us.  We are  so glad he did!   When he was caught, he was very fearful and snapped at intake, so he was deemed aggressive. There isn’t an aggressive bone in Gulliver’s body, but because of this he should not go to a home with young kids!  He’s such a special boy.  He had a bad case of kennel cough, which turned into pneumonia, but didn’t complain a bit!  He comes when you call him and jumps up on the couch to cuddle and kiss you!  He is a big brother to his fearful foster mate, Punky, comforting him and making him feel secure. However, he sometimes gets a little greedy when he’s getting attention…he wants all of it! It’s not often a dog like Gulliver comes along.  One thing, he doesn’t like being left alone, so he should have company around him.  He does have a touch of separation anxiety, but settles down quickly with company.   He would be great with a family who can devote love and attention to him.  Kids over 8 yrs old would be ideal….plus a home with a yard, a canine companion (a MUST) and humans to play with him!  When he looks at you with those big brown eyes…they speak volumes of his gratitude for even a belly rub!  Great on a leash, in the car and even appears to be potty trained — but no guarantees!
