MEET LITTLE FLEURI….and she is a gentle little flower.  This gray/white, 9 lb, 7 yr old Maltese/Terrier, as best we can guess, does not shed, she is very quiet and quite shy.  Fleuri is a bit on the insecure side and as soon as she arrived at LHH, she bonded to her foster sister, Lindy.

While she doesn’t really engage or play with other dogs, Fleuri loves the companionship of another canine companion, as you can see above.  She is very quiet…and very food motivated!  She wants to please, loves to be close to you and kiss and cuddle.  She was not potty trained when she arrived, but on a regular schedule and walks, she is “getting it,” but she is a work in progress.  We take her out about 4-5 times a day and she is “all business” on her walks! She likes to do her business and head back home for cuddles and quiet!  She would not be a good running and/or hiking partner!!

Finally, Fleuri seems to like to feel safe and secure in her home where she is loved and can give love. She likes consistency and a routine. She doesn’t require high activity or adventures.  The ideal home for her would be a calm one, with a yard, where her people work from home and she has a canine friend to bond to.  She would not be good in a senior home because she does need to go on walks several times daily and can get under foot.  Does this sound like your home?
