MEET FIGARO…a full-figured, handsome, 25 lb, 3-4 yr old, gray and black Lhasa Apso mix.  In picture #3, you can see him ‘au natural’!  We swear it’s the same dog!  We think the “barber of Seville” gave himself a haircut!  Figaro was found as a stray in Long Beach, matted, sopping wet in the rain. Fix Long Beach took him in and asked us to rescue him.  We obliged.  Figaro is probably one of the kindest dogs we have ever had.  Sadly, he was adopted by a family who did not want to take the time to let him settle in.  Figaro was returned after only two weeks and didn’t get a chance to get to know the “man of the house.” So, he thought he was an intruder!  They thought he was aggressive towards men, which is not the case at all.  We are happy to have him back!  Figaro is bigger than your typical Lhasa and he submissively turns over on his back for a belly rub when you go to pet him!  He didn’t walk on a leash when he arrived, but he does now!!  In fact, he sometimes like to run, which will help him lose a couple of lbs!  He would be great on a run or hike!  He is very smart and while he is almost potty trained, he is learning and does his business outside.  The best home for Figaro would be one where he has a family where he is not left alone much…he might howl if he is left long hours.  He is good with other dogs and very interested… but not crazy about big ones.  He just has to get used to them.  He doesn’t have any aggression that we have seen.  He easily could be a boy’s best friend….or a girl’s….could he be yours?
