THIS IS FELIX…a 4 yr old, b/w, non shedding, 8 lb, Yorkie Shih Tzu Mix? Or maybe a shrunken down Schnauzer?  Whatever breed he is, he has had a very rough time in his short life. We pulled him from the Carson Shelter, who had not noticed that he had a broken leg that had never been repaired and does not bend 🙁 He still gets around fine! They neutered him…and when we took him to our vet, we learned that he actually had a hole in his heart (also known as a PDA) and needed surgery! This was a congenital defect and now that he has had the repair, his heart is normal!  While he doesn’t really jump on things (he manages to jump up on the bed with a little help from a chair), his leg is okay and the vets said to leave it as it is….we were hoping that once his heart was been fixed, he will come back to life!  AND HE HAS!! He is a funny guy who thrives when he is with other dogs.  He becomes kissy and playful…or he will hide and be very independent.  He is now walking on a leash and doing his business outside!  We have fallen in love with Felix and the right home for him will have a playful small dog or two, time to convince him that he is loved and will be well cared for.  He needs lots and lots of reassuring, and was a little bit of a project…but a loving one. WE LOVE FELIX!!  It has been so rewarding to see him come out of his shell!  He is quiet as a mouse until he barks, which is seldom but big for a little guy! He is protective of his food with other dogs, loves to play with toys now and hide your shoes!  He loves flip flops!  His medical has been taken care of, he just needs a loving, happy home…with a very caring family.  Is that you?
