Elwood & Mowgli
Hooray! This dog has been adopted!
UPDATED PROFILE – ELWOOD AND MOWGLI ARE A PAIR!!
After spending time with them and great consideration, we have determined that Elwood and Mowgli need to go together as a pair.
MEET ELWOOD AND MOWGLI…two sweethearts of 15 dogs who were dumped at a park all at once. As they all went scrambling, Animal Control was there and told people to just take them…and they didn’t care who! They didn’t even site the “dumpers!” Our rescue team was able to get seven of them, they gave us two — Elwood and Mowgli.
MEET ELWOOD… A handsome, white, 3-4 yr old, 16 lb Bichon Maltese or Terrier or something gorgeous. He is still a bit nervous but coming around! Didn’t walk on a leash when he arrived; now walks up and down the stairs by himself, pretty well on a leash, is doing his business outside (but he will still use a pp pad) and is learning what it is to be a dog. Elwood is quiet and still a bit shut down. While he loves other dogs on the street and is getting the hang of the good life, he REALLY loves Mowgli and is very protective of him! They are actually co-dependent on each other and MUST stay together.
MEET MOWGLI (who we should rename “Jake”). This brindle brown/black/tan, 14 lb, 4-5 yr old Poodle mix loves other dogs — small, medium, big — loves them all! However, we have learned that he really loves Elwood and is very protective of him. So far, he has used the pp pads to do his business, but he does need training. He is uber sweet, gives kisses, wants to know what toys are about and is very sensitive.
They are GREAT eaters — in fact, Mowgli eats out of Elwood’s bowl! They are both affectionate but Elwood a little more reluctant than Mowgli. They would be good with gentle kids 8 yrs + They will need a patient home who will be able to appreciate watching them blossom. Foster lives on a main street so they are just getting used to louder sounds. Daycare was where we learned how dependent they are on each other. We are excited to watch them get comfortable in their new enviorment and know they will no longer be singin’ the blues!!
