MEET THE ONE AND ONLY ELLIOT….and no, we are not bait and switching dogs!  Yes, he did look like a Lhasa and now he does look like a white Beagle —  but hair grows!!  Elliot is an adorable, cream with silver tips, 3 yr old, 16 lb, Lhasa Apso mix.  The first picture is what he actually looked like before the Orange County Shelter stripped him naked!!  Why, we’re not too sure; he wasn’t even matted that we could tell.  But those of you with good imaginations know how adorable he will look!  And, he has the personality to match!

Elliot was very tentative in the shelter, as many small dogs are.  He was nervous and defensive but almost as soon as he got here, he was giving me love and kisses and acting like a puppy.  There doesn’t seem to be an aggressive bone in this pup’s body!  However, he doesn’t like to be surprised and he is protective…after all THAT’S HIS JOB!!  He likes other dogs (since he just got neutered, maybe a little too much) and we think he would like to have a canine friend of his own!  He is great on walks (until he feels like he must protect you), is not a big barker but he definitely bonds to his person quickly!  He is soooo playful and a bit on the hyper side!  He definitely wouldn’t fare well in a senior home 🙁  He would do best in an active home where he could go on long walks, maybe a hike or go running with you!  Because of the shelter report, we don’t think he’d be a good fit with kids.  A home with a yard and outside access will help with his potty training, as he does need a refresher course.  Our foster is working with him now, but we never guarantee!!  Elliot is a super charged, happy dog and he will make any house a home!
