THIS IS ELIJAH….and we don’t know much about his story, but what we do know is sad.  This loving, 8 lb, black/brn, 6 yr old, Yorkie mix was being dumped in the Riverside Shelter but our people intercepted him.  Two months prior, his owner adopted him from Moreno Valley but told us they were moving and couldn’t keep their dogs, so they were getting rid of them.  UGH.  Elijah didn’t deserve this.  He is a little apprehensive of bigger dogs, but it only takes him a little coaxing and he’s good to go.  It’s just a little fear because he doesn’t know what is coming next!  He is ecstatic on your lap, held like a baby in your arms and just being with you!  His teeth were broken and dirty, so he got a dental, but he has the attitude of a youngster!  Remember, Yorkie’s live long lives!!  Put yourself in his position and you’d be a bit fearful too!  Nevertheless, Elijah is social and pretty easy going…but he does NOT like being left alone!  He does like to engage in playing with other dogs his size and toys.  We’re still working on getting kisses!  He would not be a good apartment dog, as he will bark for a few minutes if you leave him along without another dog or human.  He also barks to get your attention or to tell you something but he is NOT a yappy dog.  He’s such a cutie pie and very well behaved…why would you want to leave him behind?  And, he’s portable!     He does his business outside but no guarantees at your house!  Best with outside access 😉  Do you have a heart and soul for this precious little man?  Kids over 5 yrs old welcomed!
