HERE’S EDWIN….known to us as “Eddy.”  This young man is gray and black w/ white socks and chest, approx 7-8 yrs old, 10 lbs and a mix of Shih Tzu and Terrier (doesn’t shed).  His story is complicated. We were told he was found on the street by a rescue person, who supposedly got the owner to surrender him “he didn’t want him.” He was in horrific condition; his coat was like a brillo pad.  Clearly, he had been neglected. Owner said he was 2 yrs old and though he has bright eyes…his teeth are quite worn down.  That’s probably from a diet of rocks and Micky D’s!! While Eddy will definitely let you know if he doesn’t like something you do…he doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. He doesn’t like to be groomed, but other than that, he just needs a patient, alpha pack leader so that he knows he isn’t the boss.  For this reason, we would not put him with kids.  Give him a belly rub or pay attention to him and he’ll follow you anywhere.  Who knows what his life was like before…we don’t think he had EVER been groomed.  It took our person 3 hours to get thru his coat (and Eddy was NOT happy about it!).  Once he knew that nobody was going to hurt him, he was a gentleman, giving kisses with his long tongue!  Eddy loves toys, but not so sure what to do with them.  He will use PP pads or outside for his business (at least at our house!).  He could go to a home with or without another dog…but likely won’t like being left alone.  He needs lots of love and attention….can you provide him with this?  He will love you forever if you will 😉
