Doogie
Hooray! This dog has been adopted!
MEET DOOGIE… one of the cutest, 2.5-3 yr old, black and white (one ear black/one ear white), 13.9 lb, active Bichon mixes you will ever find. And when we say active, we mean it!! This precious baby was found on the streets of San Bernardino with no collar or ID. Attempts to find his owners came up blank. Doogie can be a little bossy with other dogs…he doesn’t mean to be, but he really wants to have you all to himself. We have learned that he is good with kids and he is OK with most other dogs…but he prefers all your attention and doesn’t want to live with another dog in the house! He definitely needs structure, as a routine makes sure he knows what his next moves should be. He can be on high alert if something happens that he is not prepared for…and he is getting training for his at this time. He bonds very quickly and can be possessive of you! He doesn’t like being left alone, so he needs a home where someone is around most of the time (he does settle down). We think he’d do best in a home with a yard and we’re working on his potty training! He is doing great and does his business as soon as you take him out. He might bark at strangers on the street because, after all, he is your protector! A key to Doogie’s energy is exercise — and he loves to walk. He loves to play with his toys, and if you throw one, he can jump high enough to catch it — maybe even a frisbee! He probably would not do well in an apartment because he will bark — but he settles down in your lap for cuddles and kisses whenever you will let him.
Doogie is a wonderful dog, but he needs a patience home that will work with him. He is very smart and listens. He’s learned a lot since coming to rescue and training will help him to become the best dog he can be. Does this puppy sound like he could become a member of your family?
