MEET DAPPER….a great looking, full of swag, youngster with no manners!  This gorgeous, golden, 1.5 yr old, 17 lb Lhasa Terrier, as best as we can tell, was absolutely terrified at the San Bernardino shelter.  I would be too!  They wouldn’t let us see him, but we weren’t going to let him die.  Sight unseen, we took him and our wonderful volunteer Jim Ralston, allowed him to decompress at his house and within a couple of days, he was giving lots of kisses and trying to cuddle.  Loves to climb on furniture!!  BUT he picks and chooses his friends and men are low on the totem-pole at first 🙁  Dapper’s real problem was that he had really bad owners to start off his life!  With structured love, not to mention fresh chicken, Dapper is almost ready for his forever home!  He is insecure, so he needs a home that will be patient with him and understand he needs to meet people and be shown that they are friends, not foe.  However, look out UPS or Mr. Mailman!!!  And, be careful with strangers, esp men.  Once he knows you, he can be your best friend, but again, he picks and chooses and it takes him time to feel secure.  He needs socialization, so we gave  him time at PuparazziLA, but he wasn’t great with the other dogs.  We decided he needed to live with our trainer for a little while.  Obedience training will help him learn to respect his humans because he is very VERY smart and wants to please!  Just learning that toys are for squeaking and not eating!  Now, he carries them around with him!   The right home for him will be a house (not an apartment) with a yard and humans who want to spend time with him.  Not a fit for kids.  We know that nobody can be home 24/7, but he is selective about who he gets along with.  He picks and chooses his humans, and his dog friends. He’s worth it…come and meet him!  He has been in training.  If you are interested in meeting him, please complete the application and we will review and set an appointment for you to meet with his trainer to see if you are a good fit!  He is a great dog…
