MEET DAPPER….a gorgeous, full of swag, 2.5 yr old, 20 lb, golden Lhasa Poodle X, who came to us from the San Bernardino Shelter with no manners!  It was obvious Dapper didn’t have an ideal puppyhood.  He was scared and defensive because he had never had anyone he could trust.  According to his trainers, he wasn’t socialized with a lot of strangers, which made him cautious when meeting new people.   He just wasn’t sure who to trust!  Thanks to our volunteer Jim, he was able to decompress for a few weeks after leaving the shelter and before we knew it, he was full of love to give. But, still apprehensive.

Now that he has been in training for the last few months — learning how to control his impulses, make new friends, play and most importantly trust in humans again —  Dapper has made amazing progress and is now ready for his new home!!  He needs patient dog parent(s) who can raise him to be a member of their family. A protector at heart, (that’s the Lhasa in him) Dapper will need Alpha parents to tell him who/what/when they do/don’t need his protection. He is very loyal to his family…humans and dogs alike.  He can be adopted to a multi-dog household or a parent who is looking for a best friend — just no kids (of any age!)  He does love to play and we’d love for him to have a BFF.

Training has helped Dapper tremendously!  With structured love, he will continue to become a model citizen. His people need to make a commitment to help him stay that way! He is VERY smart and wants to please!  The right home for him will have a yard and humans who want to spend time with him.
