MEET COLE…one of the newest members of the Lhasa Happy Homes pack! While this gorgeous, 18 lb, coal black and white coated, 3 yr old Lhasa Mix’s underbite enters the room before he does, he’s a very special boy. He looked a little disheveled in his pre-grooming pictures, but take a gander at him now! We had to wait on his grooming because he came to us with an URI, which is all better now. At the Orange County Shelter, he was terrified and had no idea what he was doing there. He was not terribly matted, totally non aggressive… but we still have not figured out his story.

Cole is definitely sound sensitive and is still a bit skittish since arrival, but he has definitely come out of his shell with his fosters as a happy and loving boy! This is how we know he will be a fantastic companion!! He is very quiet (we haven’t heard him bark yet) and he is finding it safer for him to hide under the futon initially, he comes out and greets us with enormous enthusiasm, lots of kisses, and a very active welcome! On walks, after trying to scurry away, he cautiously approaches people/dogs and then hides again! Be careful to watch your doors — he can be an escape artist! We know that all Cole needs is to know he is safe and secure and all will be well. He is good on walks and does his business (#2 always on the sidewalk!) and seems to be potty trained, but no guarantees at your house.

We believe the best home for Cole would be with a family who has patience, love and the time to give him the attention and potential training he needs. He is uber friendly to everyone (once his fear subsides) and kids over 8 yrs old and another dog(s) would be great for him. Does he sound like a beauty you could love for life?
