PENDING ADOPTION”

MEET CINDYLOU…a sweetheart of a pup who is still wondering how she ended up in the Baldwin Park Shelter 🙁  We are confused too!  How this 12 lb, tan/white, 4 yr old, Shih Tzu mix ended up there is a mystery to us all!  But we don’t think her past was befitting of a doll like her.  It has taken about a week to settle in and now she is following us around everywhere.  She is a real explorer in the house, loves closets and corners and wants to check everything out!  She loves to cuddle real close but when you look into her eyes, she is still not fully there and always looks worried 🙁  We don’t know what happened, but we are loving her to life and that’s what she needs.

CindyLou is a very slow, picky eater (maybe to keep her girlish figure?)…but part of that is because she is not feeling 100%.  She had a little fever at the vet but she is otherwise healthy.  BUT don’t go near her food!  She lost a treat and was looking for it for her and when I found it, she was upset she didn’t find it first!  Snapped at me, but didn’t do any harm, just shocked me!  She is quiet as a mouse and we haven’t heard a peep out of her…except a little occasional whine if she wants something.  She loves her walks and is good with the other dogs, although she doesn’t really engage at this point.  Seems to know where to do her business, but we never guarantee.  We think she would be fine as an only dog as long as she has a family who maybe works from home and can pay a lot of attention to her.   Older kids (12+) would be okay…and we will update this profile as soon as we see any changes to her behavior.   No matter what, CindyLou earned her name as a swwet southern belle (SoCAL that is) and we love her…you will too!
