MEET CHEEKY….a cream, 8 yr old, 12.2 lb (she has lost a pound!), female Poodle mix, who came to LHH from her young mom, who is leaving for college and did not want to leave her with the family.  Cheeky lived outside and was bred, as her family didn’t believe dogs belong inside (!!) and it’s time for that to end! 

We were told that Cheeky is an alert barker, but this has not been the case with us.  Being left outside, too much stimulus causes that.  So far at her foster home, she hasn’t barked except at the TV!   She loves to play with toys (she might even try to carry one around with her), give kisses, is good in the car, loves long walks and has her “hyper” moments — especially when it is time to go for a walk!  She would be good with kids over 5 yrs old as she doesn’t act like an older dog.  She is a big foodie, but you have to count your fingers after you give her a treat as she gets a little over excited!  We were told she likes to eat alone…but she’s been fine our dogs.  Cheeky is a bit apprehensive of new people, but settles down once introduced!  She had to live outside all her life, so she will need your patience in potty training her.  She will use PP pads and is learning to go outside when the door is opened.   All you need to do is show her love and affection and she gets it!  She is playful and loves belly rubs…and she is very easy going — easy to fall in love with! 

Cheeky has been wonderful in her foster home.  She could go to a home with or without another dog, but we think she would prefer another small dog who is calm and loving.  Do you have the time, space and love to give to this little orphan!?   She is waiting for you.
