MEET AXYL….who is just happy to be alive, groomed and in a foster home.  This 8.6 lb, white, 2 yr old, Maltese X, was shaved down before we could identify what his mix might be.  But, whatever it is, it’s adorable!  He might not look it, as he obviously loves to pose, but he is quite shy and is still coming out of his shell!

Axyl came from the Hesperia Shelter, bewildered and insecure.  He didn’t know how to walk on a leash, and we’ve learned from his foster mom that he really likes being outside.  Probably, he didn’t have a choice before!  A home with a yard and outside access would probably help with his training.  He came into the shelter with Kaleigh, another of our pups, and they loved to cuddle so we believe that another, small, active, playful dog should be in his future!  He initiates play with his foster canines, but they are older and not really interested!  His foster family has a baby, and he is very gentle with him and makes him laugh!  However, Axyl does get spooked from time to time, like loud noises on the street, so we don’t recommend young, chaotic kids in the house.  Kids over 12 would be ideal.  What Axyl really needs is a patient home that will get him training to be the best dog he can be would be perfect for him.
