THIS IS AVERI…such a loving sweetheart. This 7-8 yr old, cream colored, 13 lb, Lhasa Shih Tzu mix ?, as best as we can determine, is just a doll. She was originally adopted from the East Valley Shelter last September, dumped back in the shelter in February 🙁 We are assuming that when they discovered she had bladder stones…they didn’t want her anymore :((
She has recently recovered from surgery, where she had 32 stones (yes, and 13 of them were the size of macadamia nuts…OUCH) and is doing well.
She would be best with outside access to do her business (i.e., a house with a yard vs an apartment). Her bladder is still recovering so she has had a few accidents here and there. She is on a special food, but she does not have the type of stones that will typically reoccur. She LOVES her food and is very food motivated, which will help with any training you do with her. She happily amuses herself with toys.
Averi’s foster mom has yet to hear her bark on her own, but she will ‘join the chorus’ if the band is barking…but much less. Averi is much more interested in her humans than she is in other dogs, but she doesn’t like being left behind. She can be alone a few hours, but she would prefer to be attached to you — she’s a velcro dog! No separation anxiety though. Another dog in the home would be a plus.
Her eyes are bright, but so sad. She wants to be in her forever home, forever. Does she sound like a sweetheart you could love…FOREVER?
