THIS IS ATTICUS….and this poor baby was just a mess when he came to LHH.  He is a beautiful dog, tri colored, 3 yrs old, 14 lbs and Shih Tzu!  Atticus came from East Valley Shelter, with a severely broken leg, which needed to be plated, along with several broken ribs.  Despite his discomfort, he was a gentleman and was able to move around more than he probably should have!  The first vet was supposed to plate his leg and put a pin in and it broke 🙁  We ended up taking him to ASEC, where he had a bone graft done and we hoped that it would grow bone.  Unfortunately, the damage was so severe that we had to amputate the leg.  I think it hurt us more to do that than it did him!  Atticus is a wonderful boy and doesn’t have a speck of aggressiveness in him; he loves everyone.  Well, we’ve learned that he can be a bully on walks, so he’ll need some training in that area!  He s already playing around and getting used to being a tripod!  He just loves life!  He seems to be potty trained, but you know we never guarantee!!  He is a very special boy, with a very loving temperament.  He loves other dogs and would love to have a few to play with!  Do you have a place in your heart for Atticus?  He will be available for adoption by November 4.
