Aspen
Hooray! This dog has been adopted!
THIS IS ASPEN….and he is a special guy. This precious, cream colored, 10 lb, 3-4 yr old Shih Tzu came from the Lancaster Shelter after a couple of “sentences” there. He was adopted…then got out and came in on September 11 and owners came to get him. We think his eye had been injured and never treated, but we don’t know for certain. He was back in the shelter on September 25 and the shelter waited for his people to come…but they didn’t. At this point, Aspen is sight compromised but he does see a bit from his right eye. No worries — this is one of the happiest pups in the world and he would be adorable with no eyes! He may lose the left one, but even sight compromised, he gets around like a champ. He can jump up and kiss your nose! He gives lots of kisses, is extremely playful and MUST go to a home where there is another small dog. His potty training seems to be good after a few days, giving him the “routes” for your home. He is very quiet and he is very loved at LHH. Aspen is even great in the car. At first he wants to drive, but when instructed to sit in the passenger seat, he complies like a gentleman! He does need drops in his right eye and more than likely, he will lose his left. He doesn’t seem to bump into things, we don’t think he is totally blind, but no matter what….he is a fantastic pup. He could go to any home that has another dog….kids over 8 yrs old welcomed and a family who will love him despite his challenges. Could you and your dog be Aspen’s eyes?
