**ARTIE PENDING ADOPTION**    Going home on Saturday!! 

MEET ARTIE….a cutie patootie 6-7 yr old, 9.5 lb (underweight, should be 10-11 lbs), cream/tan, Shih Tzu boy, who came from the East Valley Shelter, suspected of being hit by a car.  The only thing our vet could tell was that Artie had very dirty teeth and was matted (and smelly) to the bone!  His teeth have been cleaned, he’s had his makeover and he’s been given two thumbs up!! 

If you look closely, Artie has one blue eye…very unusual!  Even though his coat was a mess, we could tell that when you let it grow out, it will be very pretty (if groomed and kept up!)  Artie is a sweetheart who is very quiet and curious and we believe he was loved at some time.  We can tell you he isn’t quite potty trained, but if kept on a schedule, he’s getting better.  We have yet to hear him bark, so no worries there.   

We have gotten to know Artie better and he is still coming out of his shell.  He is asking for attention, follows us around and LOVES to be rubbed…esp his ears and head!  He likes squeaky toys, but isn’t sure what to do with them!  Finally, he is curious and wants to engage with the other dogs but they could care less…but another interested dog in the home who is small and friendly would be best for little Artie because he does not like being left alone.    He is probably fine with kids, since he has no aggression.  A home where he will get oodles of attention and love is the home where Artie should be!!  Does that sound like yours?
