UPDATE!!  TAFFY HAS LOST 6 LBS!!  

THIS IS TAFFY….all of her!  She is 14.4 lbs (down from 20 lbs!), white/tan, 8 yrs old and believe it or not, she IS a Maltese mix!  We did a DNA on her and she is Maltese, Yorkie and Chihuahua!  Her story is sad.  Her owner fell ill and just stopped taking care of her.  He free-fed Kibbles ‘n Bits and did not take her out…no exercise + bad food = obese.  She also came with bad ear infection and a growth (benign) on her ear.  We learned she had a genetically defective ear canal, which needed to be removed (and will be), but after attempts to clear up her infection, this is the the only solution.  She will be deaf in one ear, but she will no longer have infections!  Despite all that, she is healthy now, very smart and easy going.  Taffy has already learned to use the doggie door and uses it most of the time!  She is quiet (sounds like she has been debarked) and really just needs a home where she can be a companion and give/receive love… not to mention exercise… and if you do also…what a pair!!  Loves to sit with you, comes up to you, loves belly rubs, not needy at all.  Loves affection and gives it but no kisses.  She is easy to medicate without a fight.  Bonds quickly, misses you when you are gone, would be OK in an apartment.  Although she doesn’t have separation anxiety, she wants her human around.  If this sounds like a dog who you can love back to a fighting weight of maximum 12 lbs, come and meet her (after you complete the online adoption application!)
