MEET GUSTAVO aka Goosey to his friends and family! This VERY petite, 7 lb, chocolate malt colored, almost 5 yr old imperial Shih Tzu (DOB 10.08,2020) is a pocket sized pooch who wants to be loved by you! He originally came from a breeder, who used him for his size 🙁 When she was done with him, she sold him to a wonderful woman who loved him, but her health and loss of a job caused her to be in scarcity and she believed Goose deserved better. He looks a like an alien but he is one of the cutest buggers we have ever had!

Goose can be very passive — but not when you and/or other dogs are around. He gets absolutely elated when you come home or take him outside! Because of his diminutive size, he tends to get trampled on by other dogs but he is a trooper. Loves toys and will race to get them from other dogs and kind of fetch, but it depends on “traffic” whether or not you will get it back. Loves his belly and ears rubbed…. and loves his head played with and is a little cuddler in a sling. He loves to give little kisses on his schedule and will start with your hands and work his way up!

Since Goose was used as a breeder, we were told he was never potty trained. We have been taking him out and he has been doing his business where he is supposed to. He holds it at night and pees a huge puddle outside! NO GUARANTEES ….but we are training him as best we can here and he’s doing fantastic. Belly bands are a great assistance at night! He will use a pp pad…now he loves his walks. However, he still has accidents so be prepared! Very smart and wants to please but be prepared.

It would be best for Goose to go to a home where there is another small furbaby who will be gentle with him. He started to bond with Angie and followed her lead and in his current foster home he is with many his own size and he’s fantastic with everyone. This may be the answer to the training issue. He really needs a loving, patient, hands-on family who will give him a ton of attention. We are hoping there will be another dog in the picture who Gustavo will approve of! Could that family be yours?
