INTRODUCING DUNCAN….a sweeter than sugar, ~10 lb, white, 2-3 yr old Maltipoo, who hailed from the Moreno Valley Shelter. We didn’t get a back story on him, but one thing we know for certain — Duncan LOVES to have a good time! He will play with you, dogs, probably cats and anything that will play with him. He makes the cutest little squeaky sound with glee instead of barking when he is playing! He is just adorable when he does pattycake on his hind legs and tries to engage his foster buddies! In other words…Duncan is a very entertaining, happy boy!!

The one thing about Duncan is he is very busy and needs exercise, so we believe he would be best in an active home with kids (over 5 yrs old), a yard and a family who pays a lot of attention to him. Training should be on his forthcoming agenda, as you don’t want him to bolt out of the front door thinking that this is part of the game!! He’s a good eater and really lovable. The cutest thing about him, and there are many….is he kisses every dog he meets!! He loves to jump on your lap and kiss you, also! He would love to join you for sporting events or brunch or anywhere you will take him!!

If you are a happy family, looking for a happy dog, who have another young, playful dog to entertain Duncan and everyone else….he’s waiting for you.

***ADOPTION PENDING***

INTRODUCING MR. FINLEY….. This 4-5 year old, 18 lb dapper dude is a mix of a few breeds – possibly Shih Tzu, Lhasa Apso, Schnauzer, and Poodle (his mother was probably a hussy)! Whatever he is, it’s 100% adorable.

We don’t know about Finley’s past, but it’s clear he hasn’t had an easy time. Initially, he was a bit skittish and shy, he would hide and we had to “nudge” him to out — but his new foster dad said…no more! He has officially transformed into a sweet and affectionate companion. They have told us that he has really settled in and is getting along famously with the other dogs, people on the street, kids, he loves to greet people and let them know he’d like to get to know them!!

Finley would do best in a reassuring environment, hopefully with a yard and maybe another playful, happy dog, maybe even a little bigger than he is. Training will help him bond and adjust, especially in the potty department, where he is doing very well. He is very smart and now that his fear has subsided, we’re sure he will be an easy train. He’s great with other dogs and kids over 8 yrs, and when he feels safe and loved, he’ll be a loyal and loving companion.

The key element to success with Finley will be attention and love. He is not a barker and will be a wonderful companion when he is comfortable and realizes he is safe and adored. If you’re looking for a furry friend who just needs a little extra TLC, Finley could be the perfect match for you! Are you ready to open your heart and home to this sweet boy?

HERE’S BONNIE AND WINNIE…Littermates who have never been separated and only with one owner.   Sadly, their senior mom went into assisted living and couldn’t take them.  They were loved and well treated, as best a senior can do…but never gave them shots, or spayed, put on a collar, walked them on a leash or rarely taken outside!!  They are potty pad trained…and now, they walk pretty well on a leash, the collars are on, they’ve been vaccinated, microchipped, spayed and they are healthy as can be!

BONNIE is a bundle of energy!  At 4 yrs old, she is a 13 lb, black and white soft scruffy DoxiPoo is what we were told.  Doesn’t seem to shed, but unlikely hypoallergenic.  She is the leader and gets uber excited when she sees you!  Bonnie will give you a bath with her tongue if you let her — loves to show her appreciation and cuddle, cuddle, cuddle.  One belly rub and she’s yours!   WINNIE is just 9.5 lbs, tan and also a DoxiPoo.  She is not scruffy like her sister — her coat is soft and silkier.  The more gentle of the two, she is a bit on the timid side at first — but don’t let that fool you!  She gets equally excited to see you and kiss you — just less demonstrative than her sister. They are sweet as sugar with everyone especially each other. Winnie does have IBD, so she requires probiotics and special food.

The ideal home for these lovebugs will have a yard.  They don’t love being left alone!  When they first arrived, they howled if I wasn’t around, but now that they feel safe, they are very quiet most of the time.  They would love to play with kids over 8 yrs old!  They are very smart and quiet when you say quiet, and stay when you say stay.  Learned the leash in a day.  Still, we don’t think an apartment would be the best for them.  They need to know they are loved and in their forever home.  Their balanced energy is the perfect match…Winnie would love to stay and sit on your lap, while Bonnie goes running with a family member!

HERE’S RYDER…known to his friends as “low Ryder!”  This little 15 lb, charcoal/white, 4-5 yr old, Shih Tzu was found wandering around Riverside, lost, matted and alone.  A couple of Good Samaritans called to him and he came to them without a struggle.  Into their arms he went and they set out to find his owners.  No such luck.  No collar, no tags, no microchip.  They alerted the shelter they had him and checked everyday for word.  No such luck.  But the lucky ones were Lhasa Happy Homes when they asked if we could find him a great home.  Yes!!!

When Ryder arrived — intact, severe UTI and eye infection — he was a little on the wild side.  He was humping everything in sight and even tried to hump my head!  We were afraid he had bladder stones, but fortunately it was just a bad infection.  Now that he is neutered and his infection is gone, he’s just a wonderful little man who wants to meet everyone on the street and give sweet kisses when he can.  No more humping!!  Poor thing hates the cone of shame he has had to wear, but when it’s off he is a perfect little gentleman.  One thing, Ryder makes you work at first for his attention and cuddles.  It takes him a minute to relax and trust you….but once he does, he’s yours!  He is very quiet and could be an only dog…but he won’t be happy if you leave him alone for hours and hours.  If you work from home, he would love to be your side kick…or your partner at brunch.

Ryder would be great in a home with kids over 8 yrs old, a family to take him on outings and just love him to life.  He deserves a family…to make him happy and to make them complete!  Is that you?

MEET OBIE…formerly Tobey in his previous home.  This precious little 8.5 lb (underweight), 4-5 yr old, tan/white with black tips, Shih Tzu is a sweetheart…and now, because of good food and love, he is about 10 lbs!  He was surrendered because his original parents moved internationally and the niece they gave him to (who had never had a dog) is also leaving the U.S.  So, that left Obie homeless 🙁

Obie could not be sweeter if he tried, but he was a little confused why he was here 🙁  This little man looks like a puppy, but his teeth were a mess so we got him a dental while he was being neutered.  We believe he is between 4-5 yrs.  Vet thought younger!!  He was soooooo skinny when he arrived and could still gain a pound or two or three!  He has good energy. great appetite, loves to give kisses, enjoys playing with toys and would love a companion to hang out with.  Obie does have a slight case of separation anxiety, but he does eventually settle down.  He really needs a wing person to be his best self.  That ‘winger’ could be a dog or a cat, as he loves both….but he would honestly love one or the other, and you!!  While we never guarantee any of our pups are potty trained, Obie is getting the idea and with a few walks a day should do you proud!  He will use a pp pad if one is available.  And….he is a great eater!

Obie is great on walks and he loves meeting people, dogs and children while strolling!  However, he can be a little fearful when encountering a stroller or stranger (same in the home).  He settles down pretty quickly.  He is very kind and would be great with gentle kids over 8 yrs old.  He doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body…unless you are giving another dog more attention than him, and then he just wants everyone to play together!   The ideal home will have another dog, a work from home family and a yard so he can be his best self.  Does that sound like your home??

MEET MAXWELL….A precocious, 10 lb, tri colored, 1.5 yr old, Maltese/ShihTzu, who was given up because his pet mom didn’t feel she could provide the attention and environment he needed to thrive.  That would include another dog in the home who Max can play with…a family with kids over 5 yrs old…a yard…and lots and lots of love and attention!  He is super sweet and cuddly and would spend all day getting belly rubs and playing if he could.

Maxwell has a ton of energy with all the characteristics a puppy should have…except he is not destructive!  He is very excited to explore the world and meet lots of new friends.  He is curious, active, playful, kissy, friendly with everyone, everything you want a youngin’ to be!  He loves kids and other dogs….and should have both (another young, playful dog is a must) in his life!!

On walks, Max gets distracted easily and wants to explore!  Training will be in the cards for him, so he doesn’t pull on the leash!  He mostly doesn’t lift his leg when he pees — except occasionally on a tree or bush!  He doesn’t like to be left alone and will cry for a bit but then settles down.  For this reason, we think he would be better off in a home than an apartment, and a yard will be ideal for him to get out his energy with another young pup to hang around with.  His potty training seems to be going well…but we never guarantee at your house. He does use PP pads 🙂

Maxwell longs to be in his forever home.  Can you make that happen?

***ADOPTION PENDING***

MEET SIR JORDY….”one of the nicest dogs we’ve ever transported for you!”  That’s what our transporter said when he brought him to us from San Bernardino.  This sweetheart is likely Maltese/Pomeranian (sheds a little), 10.5 lbs, 1.5-2 yrs old and almost pure white!  If you don’t like kisses, stop reading here because that’s how he greets you!  He is just a puppy so he sometimes gets carried away and might nip your nose!  For that reason, we think he would be best in a home with older kids (over 8 yrs), he definitely wants another dog to hang around with and a yard would be awesome.  He can be very mellow…mostly when he is sleeping!  But he loves to play and he is really smart and wants to please you.  Exercise and walks will tired him out and then he will love to cuddle with you and he will sit on your lap…just not all day!  He really wouldn’t be good in a mature home — he wants to see the world!

Jordy is just learning how to walk on a leash, so occasionally he will get really excited and jump high up in the air!  Can be a wiggle worm, as he just got neutered and didn’t love his cone of shame!  He came to us with huge matts behind his ears and while his coat turned out great, he was carrying around everything with him but the kitchen sink.  It was just too lovely to shave and he is very proud of it!

If you have the “right stuff” Jordy would love to join your family!  He won’t be at adoptions until November 24 — just in time for Thanksgiving!  Is this a fluff ball you could fall in love with?

MEET COLBY…and Mr. Colby has had a rough start in life.  This 12.5 lb, 3 yr old, silver/gold/black Shih Tzu/Yorkie was given to a family as a newborn after an “accident” happened with a friend’s dog.  After a couple of years, they didn’t want him anymore…no reason given.  Then given to another friend, her husband didn’t like him so after 9 months (in which time they never neutered, groomed or bathed him once) they gave him to LHH to rehome.

When he first arrived, Colby had almost no personality.  We got him neutered, groomed and gave him lots of love and the light came back into his eyes.  He seeks out love and attention now and cries when you leave him behind.  He settles down, but we believe he would be happiest in a home where he is not left alone — would be great with another small dog who he can play with and help him feel secure.  Colby is very gentle, so he would likely be great with kids over 5 yrs old. He is very smart, listens and stays when you tell him to stay.   Walks well on a leash and loves to meet other dogs in the neighborhood.  He will likely need a little help with his potty training, but he is doing fantastic here!

The ideal home will have another small dog, maybe a couple of kids and a family who will love his to life!  Does that sound like you?  If you don’t have another dog, but you are home and/or will take him with you…what he needs most is love.

THIS IS ROCKO…and rock’n’roll Rocky is a superstar!!  This gorgeous, 17 lb, 4 yr old, tan/white Lhasa Apso is the real deal!  Unfortunately, he hasn’t yet found a family that had the time or appreciation to get this wonderful boy training or give him the attention he needs.  He is very loving, kissy, playful and happy under the right circumstances!

Rocko requires a little patience, time, and training.  When you are walking him, he likes to run circles around you, but we are working on “walk straight” and he responds.  He is very smart and wants to please.  He wants to explore the world, meet and greet everyone on the street and say hello! Rocko is not aggressive, but he can be snippy with new people if they don’t give him enough time to warm up.  He needs pet parents who understand the breed and will work on his human socialization. Once he feels comfortable with you (just give him a few days to settle in and he’s there!), he’s the most loyal companion you could ask for!

The best home for Rocko would be one where there is a yard, so that he can exercise and play with you!  Because kids can be frenetic, we think he’d be better off without kids.  His vocal manners are pretty good, but he does bark to alert!  He’s been doing well with potty training in his foster home, but no guarantees at your house!

Does handsome, sweet Rocko sound like a pup you could “rock’n’roll” with?
