THIS IS DELLA….and this poor girl was passed around from one family to another and now landed in rescue.  Her next home will be her last!  She is a wonderful, pensive, active, 14 lb, 5 yr old, Lhasa mix, maybe with poodle, as she does have long legs and a poodle body.  Della looks you straight in the eye and lets you know when she feels safe.  She is sometimes a little slow to warm up, and prefers women to men.  When she is introduced, and you take it slowly with her, she is great with most everyone.  This comes out of fear and a lack of past stability, but she really is a good dog at heart.  She loves being with other dogs and we think she would be happier with a canine friend of her choosing unless you are around most of the time.  She will bark when you leave but settles down. For this reason, apartment living would not be the best choice.  She gets very, VERY excited when you return.  She will need training in her new home, but she does seem to be potty trained (no guarantees)  At times, she can be submissive and lets our little Louie hump her without any complaints!  There are other times she wants to be the boss.  Don’t leave treats on the counter….she will find a way to get them!  She has been known to jump in the bathtub to find her way up on the counter to steal what she wants!!!  She loves to get on the bed and lay next to you once she feels comfortable.   She is a special girl who needs reassurance that you won’t abandon her.  She is not a dog for children or seniors, as she is very spunky and can be unreliable with kids.  If you have patience and love for the special kids, your home could be the right one for this angel with a crooked halo.
