MEET APPLE….and she will definitely be the “apple” of someone’s eye!  This absolutely adorable little 10 lb, 4 yr old, almost pure white Shih Tzu girl came from the Baldwin Park Shelter with what they said was a urinary tract infection. NOT!!! She was peeing pure blood and when she was given an ultrasound, she had a single stone the size of an egg inside her little 10 lb body!  She made it through surgery like a champ, and she is now crystal free! She must have belonged to someone who trained her, as we discovered she knows how to sit, lie down, get in her bed, rollover and give the paw. We suspect she was dumped because they couldn’t afford her medical when she developed bladder stones.

Apple is a happy, playful, easy going girl who really just wants to be loved. She would be fine as your one and only as long as you are around to give her a ton of love and affection.  She can be very independent and play peacefully, but she does not like being left alone all day.  She has warmed up to her foster pack and is playing with her foster brother but is picky about who she plays with. She does not do well in an environment with too many dogs, but we are working on getting her socialized. She needs a strong, experienced handler. She is a lap warmer and a face cleaner (loves to kiss!!), and she really will make a house a home! She will need to be on a special food but other than that, she is very healthy and a really good girl!  Seems to be potty trained, but we never guarantee.  Apple has been through a lot, and we want to make sure her next home is her forever home…are you looking for a forever companion??  She is waiting for you!!
