HERE'S MISHA....a dark charcoal w/ white chest/paws, 19 lb, 3-4 yr old, Lhasa X....who gave birth to six puppies at the Downey Shelter.  We had been interested in her but had been unable to get to the shelter and were told that she was "aggressive."  Hmmmm.  Then we got a call...."we know why she was aggressive....she just delivered six puppies!!"  No wonder!  Misha was a very good, but very protective mama indeed!  All of her puppies were healthy, rambunctious and have been adopted!  When we pulled her from the shelter, she was smelly, dirty and her coat was so matted to her skin, it had to hurt.  We could not even see her face...the matts on her face were an inch thick.  So, she had to be shaved and our groomer saved what he could!   Her hair has grown back, and it is  very soft and beautiful.  Misha is very discerning about the people around her.  She will protect you like a Lhasa does at first, but warms up quickly (to women more readily than men).  She will try to go after workmen (gardeners, mailmen, delivery people) on the street, so she will need training for this -- and we are working with her.  Seems to be pottt trained (but no guarantees!)  She is VERY smart and she WANTS TO PLEASE!  She absolutely loves attention and looks straight into your eyes like a human!  She is starting to give kisses, but is stingy!  Misha should go to a home with experienced dog people, no children (even though she would probably be OK with kids, because of her protective nature, we think better not live with them!), maybe another dog -- as she does not like being left alone and she has begun to play like a very happy dog!!  She could be an only dog and your buddy, too -- but not left alone all day.  We have caught her cuddling with her roommate!  Misha is a good girl and deserves to be loved and cuddled...something she loves to do!  She just needs time and patience....and she will truly become your best friend!
